COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When will remote instruction begin?

A: Remote instruction begins Monday, March 30th.


Q: Will I have access to Upton Hall studios and labs?

A: There will be no access to Upton Hall. There will be no face-to face instruction in studios and labs for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester.


Q: Will I get a refund for lab fees since we are no longer allowed to access studios and labs in Upton Hall?

A: This is still to be decided. Check back here for updates.


Q: When will I get specific information from my instructors? Every class is different and I don’t know how it will go!

A: Your instructors should have already contacted you with a plan for the rest of the semester.


Q: What if I haven’t heard from my instructor yet or haven’t been able to get in touch with them?

A: Please contact the Assistant Chair of the Art & Design Department, Prof. Candace Masters at if you have not heard anything from your instructor and need help getting in touch with them.

Q: Is Butler Library open?

A: The library is closed. StudyQuad remains open, but you must practice social distancing. More information can be found here:


Q: What if I have questions about returning to campus and residence halls after going away for spring break?
